Clarence Linden Crabbe, widely known by his nickname Buster Crabbe, was an actor and Olympic gold  medal swimmer.

Buster Crabbe

His best remembered roles were his portrayal of Tarzan, his Flash Gordon serials, and Buck Rogers. Three great series by three great science fiction writers.

He was even on BJ and the Bear in the early ’80s.

He built his acting career on his great physique, which also earned him a bronze medal for the 1,500 meter freestyle in the 1928 Olympic Games, and a gold medal for the 400 meter freestyle in the 1932 Olympics.

He was my 8th great-grandfather’s step-son’s 7th great-grandson.
