Franklin Pierce (1804-1869), the 14th President of the United States of America

Franklin Pierce was born in a log cabin in Hillsborough, New Hampshire. He was a lawyer, general, served in the House and the Senate. He eventually died from cirrhosis caused by his lifelong alcoholism.
